Kim Norcross
Vice Chair
Kim Norcross brings over four decades of leadership across education, business, and telecommunications. With a Bachelor’s in Education and a Master’s in Administration & Supervision, she began as a classroom teacher in 1983 before moving into sales for Walker & Associates, managing telecom accounts across the Northeast and Canada. From 1991 to 2011, she owned FF&E Transportation Inc., overseeing logistics for major hotel chains. In 1999, she founded Phoenix Academy Public Charter School, growing it from five students to a multi-campus system serving over 1,350 students and 5,000 families annually, with a $12 million budget. Her work introduced PBIS (now MTSS) to NCDPI and spanned every aspect of school operations. Now focused on nonprofit leadership, Kim champions educational equity, literacy improvement, and sustainable growth, while enjoying family, coastal living, reading, and community volunteering.
