RALEIGH, N.C. — The Celebrate America Foundation (CAF), a new nonprofit dedicated to commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, officially launched this week with the mission of highlighting North Carolina’s vital role in the birth of our nation.
Founded by Kim and Paul Norcross in partnership with the bipartisan, bicameral Semiquincentennial Committee of the North Carolina General Assembly, CAF will unite patriotic hereditary societies, historical organizations, state leaders, and citizen volunteers in a shared effort to honor America’s founding principles and celebrate the stories that shaped our state and country.
“Our goal is to celebrate and cherish the incredible men and women who forged this great nation, especially those whose sacrifices and leadership here in North Carolina helped lay the foundation for American independence,” said founding chairman Paul Norcross. “This is about more than just looking back – it’s about inspiring future generations to carry forward our nation’s legacy of liberty.”
The Foundation’s initiatives include:
Sponsoring major public events across the state in recognition of the Semiquincentennial;
Providing a centralized portal to promote historical reenactments, educational opportunities, and patriotic events;
Supporting K-12 civic education with a focus on the U.S. and North Carolina Constitutions;
Encouraging public engagement with Patriotic Hereditary Organizations (PHOs);
Partnering with state agencies and legislative leaders to coordinate North Carolina’s official observance of America’s 250th birthday in 2026.
CAF will work in close collaboration with the Semiquincentennial Committee of the General Assembly to ensure North Carolina is a national leader in this historic celebration.
