Stephen P. McKee
Treasurer
Stephen P. McKee is a seasoned nuclear industry professional with over two decades of experience in nuclear systems operation, maintenance, and training. Currently serving as a Nuclear Operations Instructor at the Basic Nuclear Training Group since 2021, he designs and delivers comprehensive training programs, leveraging his expertise in reactor theory, thermodynamics, and component theory to educate both licensed and non-licensed operators. His career at Duke Energy’s McGuire Nuclear Station included roles such as Reactor Operator, Work Window Manager, and Shift Outage Manager, showcasing his leadership in high-stakes environments and schedule execution. A former Nuclear Electrician’s Mate in the U.S. Navy, Stephen honed his technical skills aboard the USS Key West, earning accolades for his service during Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. He held a Nuclear Regulatory Commission Reactor Operator’s License for McGuire Units 1 and 2 and has completed advanced training at Naval Nuclear Power School and the INPO Nuclear Instructor Certification Program. Beyond his professional achievements, Stephen is an active historian and leader in the Sons of the American Revolution, serving as North Carolina Society State President and National SAR Artillery Commander, where he engages in public speaking and Revolutionary War reenactments. His blend of technical prowess, leadership, and historical passion makes him a dynamic figure in both the nuclear and historical communities.
